Abstract

This paper examines the opportunities provided for the integration of science activities in the teaching packages of elementary school subjects in Greece. Research has shown that integrating tasks in teaching science can offer a holistic teaching approach. Various suggestions to integrate science with other subjects have been proposed as a means to promote scientific literacy. This can be assisted by an appropriate teaching package. Based on this assertion, this research was designed to highlight cross-curricular science possibilities that curricula and teaching packages in other subjects can offer. A qualitative content-analysis approach led to the conclusion that there are certain opportunities for integration.
