Abstract

For Muhaammadiyah Islamic boarding schools have a very strategic position because they are closely related to the principle of Muhammadiyah as an Islamic movement which means a religious movement. Because without religious mastery, the meaning of Muhammadiyah as an Islamic movement will lose its spirit, and the vital and meaning of the Islamic movement will blur. Studies of several literature on Muhammadiyah and Islamic boarding schools have found that Muhammadiyah in quantity has moved 65 Islamic boarding schools throughout Indonesia in various forms, from Islamic boarding schools that manage santri at the elementary school level to tertiary institutions which are the basics of Muhammadiyah missionary movements
