Abstract

Experimental and theoretical investigations were made of the excitation of surface electromagnetic waves in a corrugated thin metal film. The process was found to be accompanied by a specific change in the reflection coefficient. The excitation of surface electromagnetic waves in a thin metal film was shown to be of potential use in sensor applications.
