PENINGKATAN KAPASITAS MASYARAKAT DALAM TEKNIK PANEN & PENANGANAN PASCAPANEN PROPOLIS LEBAH TANPA SENGAT DI DESA ABENGGI KONSEL

Abstract

Abenggi Village, Landono District, Southeast Sulawesi is an agricultural area bordering a forest area with great potential for developing honey bee cultivation. Several farmer groups have cultivated stingless bees, such as Trigona sp. However, this effort is still not optimal because the only product that has been used and can be sold is honey, while other products such as bee bread and propolis are still wasted and unused. The purpose of this activity is raise awareness of farmer group members about the importance of proper harvesting and processing techniques for each bee product and improve community skills in harvesting and processing bee products, especially processing propolis into propolis blocks as a source of health and increasing their income. The method used is a participatory method with the formation of target groups, lectures/discussions, and technical guidance on harvesting and making propolis blocks. Monitoring and evaluating the success of activities using pre-test and post-test methods. The results of the activity: (1) 100% bee farmer group participation, (2) knowledge and skills of group members in harvesting techniques and post-harvest processing of propolis into propolis blocks increased (3) people became aware of propolis processing techniques that are more hygienic, can be stored and sold.
