Abstract

Mitotic kinetochores coordinate chromosome bi-orientation and anaphase onset by serving as scaffolds for the recruitment of regulatory proteins. Three new studies reveal that multiple interaction motifs of the kinetochore protein Knl1 cooperate to assemble signaling complexes that regulate chromosome segregation. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd.
