Abstract

The issues of improving production activities and minimizing product defects are among the key issues in modern operational management, which is explained by the increase in consumer requirements for product quality. For coal companies, in addition to the requirements of consumers, environmental standards and safety requirements are also important. Now many scientists and practitioners call lean manufacturing, which originated at Japanese enterprises in the 1950s, the most effective approach to improving operational activities and reducing the number of defects.The scientific and practical significance of the article is the analysis of the possibilities and directions of using lean manufacturing in relation to coal industry companies. The authors consider the application of the logic, principles, and tools of lean production to the improvement of the activities of coal industry companies
