Abstract

Attention deficit disorder has a high prevalence rate in infantile population (3-5% of school-age children; 8.1 ± 2.7% at 10 years old. Besides, it's a persistent problem that may change its manifestation with development from preschool through adult life. In this work, we make a review of the disorder in the areas of epidemiology, etiology, natural history and outcome, diagnosis and treatment. We also show our short experience with these children and their families in two different public paediatrics primary care surgeries: one rural and the other metropolitan in Navarra. Finally, we make emphasis in some difficulties to deal with in the judicious management of the disorder.
