Pyloric stenosis

Abstract

Pyloric stenosis is a relatively common problem of the first several weeks of life. It is characterized by progressively increasing frequency and forcefulness of vomiting. The diagnosis may be made on physical examination or imaging studies. A simple, carefully performed surgical procedure corrects the problem, and the infant is discharged when tolerating full feedings.
