Abstract

Therapeutic and/or prophylactic efficiency of biol. active mols. depends on the control of drug delivery and targeting. Drug targeting may be performed using biodegradable nanoparticles for delivering therapeutic agents such as liposomes or sol. macromol. carriers. Methylidene malonate 2.1.2 (MM 2.1.2) has recently been studied in order to improve its ability to polymerize and to allow nanoparticle formation in an aq. media. In order to understand, at the mol. level, the influence of various parameters on their conformations, a mol. modeling study was started on poly(methylidene malonate 2.1.2) (PMM 2.1.2) and derivs. The conformational insensitivity of the native PMM 2.1.2 forms compared to the solvent polarity, was shown. On the other hand, the importance of the configuration for the completely eroded forms, was highlighted. [on SciFinder(R)]
