Abstract

The selection of reasonable machining parameters in numerical control milling process is the key issue to improve quality and productivity of product and save cost. In order to determine the optimization machining parameters instead of conservative one used at present, an optimization method based on genetic simulated mannealing algorithm (GSA) was introduced in the study. On the basis of analysis of machining parameters in milling process of ultrasonic strength steel, an optimization strategy was modeled, in which some cutting constraints on parts, cutter and machining center were considered. Finally, an optimization case was introduced to the optimization program to validate the system. The result shows that the optimized parameters obtained were applied in NC milling process can shorten effectively machining time and increase productivity. Furthermore, it proves that the optimization models based on GSA is an effective way to obtain optimum parameter in NC machining process.
