Abstract

High magnetic moment was observed in SnO2 quantum dots (QDs) which were prepared by a soft chemical method. SnO2 QDs were characterized for morphological, structural and optical properties using high resolution tunneling electron microscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, respectively. Magnetism occurred in QDs SnO2 due to dominant oxygen defects, were studied using PL measurements. © 2014 AIP Publishing LLC.
