The sighting of Sphyrna zygaena (Linnaeus, 1758) based on the capture of a specimen in the bay of San Antonio (33°35'S) and a specimen of Echinorhinus cookei Pietschmann, 1928 captured to the west of the coast of Santo Domingo (33°35'S). The former case, the known geographic distribution is increased from region to the north to San Antonio, in central Chile and in the alter, a fifth sighting is noted for the species in Chilean waters, confirming its presence in the central region of Chile.
