Abstract

This work shows the steps to be taken in order to determine the theoretical feasibility of applying neutron activation analysis in determining a given element in a mineral sample. A practical case involving the study of the feasibility of this technique in the determination of SiO2 in a sample of coal has been studied. Databases to obtain information necessary for completion of the feasibility study are shown.
