Analysis of social responsibility in university education students

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to analyze the concept of "social responsibility of the university student" in undergraduate students enrolled in the early childhood and primary education degree. The concept addresses student "personal" values acquired from university training, which guides them in the process of endorsing their social commitments. The methodology is quantitative (descriptive-correlational) and a “university social responsibility questionnaire” is used to survey a sample of 572 students. The results show that university students attach greater importance to social responsibility from the perspective of professional practice. This is applied with social commitment and by discovering personal values. It is concluded that promoting “university social responsibility” justifies the job of universities and validates knowledge produced by and for university students.
