MASS SPECTROMETRY.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the subject of mass spectrometry as it relates to the petroleum industry. In doing this, a brief history of the development of the technique, a discussion of the theory of mass spectrometry, a description of some of the hardware available and its uses, and a few examples of how the technique can be applied are presented.
