Basic Principles of Some Sensors and their Applications: A Review

Abstract

In this modern era, sensors are part of our life. Right from household items to the various machines in the industry sensors plays an important role in automation. Most sensors convert physical quantity to its electrical analogue, which makes feasible to process the signal. The earlier generation sensors were inferior to modern generation sensors with respect to size, sensitivity, and precision. With the advent of digital processing of the weak signals the sensitivity of the sensors has been increased many fold, which has also resulted in the miniaturization of the sensors. This paper reviews some of the sensors development right from the invention to the present form and their applications.
