Abstract

Small cell base stations(SBSs) deployed macro base station provides more energy-efficient results based on the activation of sleep modes and advanced sleep modes of different levels switches the base station on/off. Discontinuous transmission is another technique to control the base station energy and network traffic by identifying the users and signal strength. Based on this sleep control and discontinuous transmission the energy consumption value on different approaches discussed and compared with the other available sources.
