Kajian Sosiologi Sastra Menggali Identitas Budaya pada Legenda Gunung Kelud

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan unsur-unsur yang terkandung dalam Legenda Gunung Kelud yang mencerminkan identitas budaya masyarakat sekitar. Melalui analisis sosiologi sastra, penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan antara cerita rakyat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat, serta peranannya dalam pelestarian budaya dan moral. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan historis dengan menggunakan analisis normatif dan interpretatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, pencatatan dan analisis dokumen yang bersumber dari buku, artikel yang berkaitan dengan legenda Gunung Kelud. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa legenda Gunung Kelud memiliki relevansi yang kuat dalam kehidupan masyarakat, khususnya dalam praktik tradisi seperti ruwatan dan larung sesaji. Legenda ini berfungsi sebagai penjaga identitas budaya, mempererat solidaritas sosial, dan mengajarkan nilai-nilai spiritual serta moral yang berkaitan dengan keseimbangan alam. Selain itu, legenda ini juga berperan dalam memperkenalkan dan melestarikan kebudayaan lokal, serta menjadi bagian penting dari tradisi lisan yang diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi.   ABSTRACT This study aims to reveal the elements contained in the Legend of Mount Kelud, which reflect the cultural identity of the surrounding community. Through a sociological analysis of literature, this study examines the relationship between folklore and the daily lives of the community, as well as its role in preserving culture and morals. The method used in this study is a historical approach using normative and interpretative analysis. Data were collected through observation, recording, and analysis of documents sourced from books and articles related to the legend of Mount Kelud. The results of the study indicate that the legend of Mount Kelud has a strong relevance in the lives of the community, especially in traditional practices such as ruwatan (rituals purifation) and larung sesaji (ritual purufacation). This legend serves as a guardian of cultural identity, strengthens social solidarity, and teaches spiritual and moral values related to the balance of nature.
