Abstract
Cadmium Cd(II) is one of the hazardous heavy metals in the environment, especially in the waters. Bioadsorben is one of wastewater treatment. The Bioadsorben be used in this study is a tanduk banana’s peel (musa)”horn”, coconut fiber and enau ijuk fiber . Tanduk banana’s peel (musa)”horn” compounds containing pectin while coconut fiber and enau ijuk fiber contain cellulose and lignin to bind the metal element. Studies conducted to obtain the optimal concentration of tanduk banana’s peel (musa)”horn”, coconut fiber and enau ijuk in adsorbing heavy metals Cd (II) in artificial wastewater. The study begins with an analysis of qualitative and quantitative . Horn banana skin powder as much as 1 gram packed into 200 mL of waste Cd (II) 5 ppm artificial wastewater using the jar test tool. The jar test tool occurs coagulation and flocculation occurs at 3 speeds : 120 rpm, 20 rpm and 0 rpm. For the 0 rpm will be deposited for 24 hours. . The next step is filtration using the column that contain coconut fibers and enau ijuk. Kadmium Cd (II)concentration calculated by Atomic Absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The result is Percentage (%) of maximum adsorption capacity banana peel powder musa “horn” to heavy metals Cd (II) on the artificial waste is 61.63% with a particle size (-60 + 80) mesh. The optimum concentration ratio in a filtration column between coconut fiber and enau ijuk fiber is 2:1. The percentage (%) decrease Cd(II) concentration after column filtration is as much as 97.32% and Turbidity is 6.54.
