Abstract

This research aimed for examining the effect of soil moisture toward the amount and efficiency of water application of hybrid maize DR Unpad. This research was conducted in the greenhouse located in Faculty of Agriculture Padjadjaran University, which is situated at about 801 meters above mean sea level. The research method was using the experimental method of Split Plot Design with three replicates. The first factor was the hybrid corn varieties, i.e.: DR-A, DR-B, DR-F, and BISI-2. The second factor was the arrangement of soil moisture, i.e.: 100% field capacity, 90% field capacity, and 80% field capacity. The results showed that there was no interaction between the treatment of maize varieties and soil moisture. On soil moisture maintained at 90% field capacity, the plants has the highest water requiremenst is 345.45 mm/season.It has showed the best plant growth, the yield and water-use efficiency at the highest level at 1.83 g/L. Plants that showed the highest water requirement, the best in growth and yield, in a row are hybrid corn BISI-2,
