Abstract

Security and speed in talking to other services are crucial in financial lending platforms, where important data and rules must be both protected and followed. API Gateways are the main point through which client requests are managed, secured and delivered in microservices architectures. This paper describes secure API Gateways that have been built using the Java Spring ecosystem, mainly for use in financial lending platforms. Authorisation, authentication, rate limitation, and encryption are some of the primary security features of API Gateways that are examined in this analysis. Additionally, it delves into how Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway, and Spring Security may help developers create robust, scalable, and standard-compliant API solutions. The course discusses real scenarios such as weak authentication, unprotected APIs and adhering to regulations such as GDPR and PCI-DSS. The analysis also notes the use of updated gateway frameworks and best industry guidelines to protect against new threats. Integrating secure gateway architectures with Java Spring boosts the safety of financial systems, defends customers' data and allows financial organizations to handle the requirements of digital lending systems.
