Abstract

One of the financial services industries that has developed very rapidly in recent years is the financial technology (fintech) industry, particularly the information technology-based money lending and borrowing service industry (LPMUBTI). Since 2016 the development of the information technology-based money lending and borrowing service industry (LPMUBTI) has recorded very high growth, far above the growth of other financial services industries. In practice, the information technology-based lending and borrowing service industry (LPMUBTI) uses customer personal identity data electronically. There is a need for oversight on this matter, because personal data protection is one of human rights which is part of personal self-protection, it is necessary to provide a legal basis to provide security for personal data, based on this, information technology-based money lending service providers (LPMUBTI) those who leak the personal data of their customers for any reason can be subject to criminal sanctions.
