Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture

Abstract

Cranial cruciate ligament injury is a common cause of hindlimb lameness in cats. Unlike dogs, the condition is commonly associated with trauma. Many cats will respond well to conservative management, but surgical stabilization may provide more predictable results. Extracapsular suture stabilization is the most common surgical treatment, and most cats have a good prognosis for return to normal function.
