IRAMUTEQ SOFTWARE AS A RESOURCE FOR DISCURSIVE TEXTUAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

This article aimed to show how the use of IRaMuTeQ software contributed to the Discursive Textual Analysis methodology procedures. For this, we used a textual corpus constructed from answers generated from a question proposed for master’s students, from the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education, at the State University of Santa Cruz, which had already performed the methodology procedures without using the software. The results showed that IRaMuTeQ streamlined the initial ATD procedures and helped directly in the intermediate categories acquisition through the classes obtained from the analyses. In addition, the tree diagrams and the distribution of classes, through a Cartesian plan, proved to be a new possibility for presenting classes, contributing to the interpretations that enable the construction of final categories and expanding the researcher’s immersion in the data obtained.
