Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of plants, parts of plants that are used and how to use them as traditional medicine by the people of Wawona Village, Tatapaan District, South Minahasa Regency. This research was conducted in April 2022. The selection of respondents was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was collected through interviews with 30 respondents in Wawona Village, Tatapaan District, South Minahasa Regency. Secondary data is obtained from village data, such as geographic location, population, and village area. The results showed that there were 31 plant species from 21 families which were used as traditional medicine. The most numerous members of this family are Lamiaceae (5 species), the part most used to be processed into medicine are leaves (24 species), and the most common method of processing is boiling (23 species). According to respondents, the benefits of medicinal plants are that they can cure various diseases such as coughs, herpes, headaches, snake bites, fever, ulcers, sprains, cholesterol, stomach acid, rheumatism, kidney stones, wounds, back pain, appendicitis, gout, diarrhea, stomach ache, sore throat, anemia, acne, insomnia. It is also useful for lowering high blood pressure, stabilizing blood sugar, promoting milk production, relieving fatigue, relieving menstrual pain, increasing platelets, dealing with stress, overcoming digestive disorders, overcoming odor body, overcome hair problems, as well as a sedative.
