Abstract
The constraints of low fish consumption in children are due to the lack of knowledge about the nutritional benefits of fish and the lack of integration of fish-based nutrition education in the school environment. A need for support from schools, families, and government policies to encourage fish consumption in children in the educational environment and society. The socialization of Gemar Makan Ikan at MIN 1 Bangka aims to increase children's nutritional knowledge and also motivate them to like and get used to eating fish in their daily lives. The habit of consuming fish is an important activity for growth and intelligence because of the protein and omega-3 content that fish have. This activity was carried out on February 26, 2025 by a team of lecturers and students of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic. The method used is participatory-based educational counseling, with learning media and a reward-based learning approach that is more in line with the characteristics of elementary school students. A total of 25 4th-grade elementary school students participated in the socialization activities, which discussed the benefits of fish, processing methods, and healthy eating patterns. The results of the socialization showed students' interest in participating in the activities, an increase in understanding, and changes in fish consumption habits. The sustainability of the program requires the support of schools, families, and policies that encourage fish consumption in the educational environment.
