Abstract

A simple agriculture ontology system was constructed under extended SKOS model in this paper. A theme relevance algorithm based on terms' distances in ontology system was tested and applied in improving the Pagerank evaluating. And also an online agricultural semantic search engine named as Sonong was implemented and deployed for service on internet. This online engine provides semantic hierarchy inference with the ontology system and a satisfying ranking list of retrieved information. © 2011 IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.
