Sterilisation

Abstract

Over the last fifteen years sterilisation has become simpler, safer and more widely available. Requests for sterilisation have increased, particularly in younger couples and those of lower parity. The irreversibility of the operation makes good pre-operative counselling essential and this should usually be done in general practice.
