Abstract

This third edition of Leonard Bruce-Chwatt's classic handbook has been revised by a team of international experts. It has an increased clinical orientation which particularly emphasizes the use of chemotherapy in the management of the disease. There is also extensive updating of our rapidly advancing scientific understanding of parasitological, entomological, epidemiological, clinical and immunological aspects of malaria and its transmission. 'Essential Malariology' provides an indispensable practical guide for the physician dealing with the disease anywhere in the world and also offers invaluable advice to public health workers implementing malaria-control policies and to laboratory staff.
