Abstract

Diagnoses of 17 species of planktonic harpacticoids are given, including two new mesopelagic genera, Volkmannia and Neotisbella, and 3 new species, Volkmannia forficula, V. attenuata and Neotisbella gigas, belonging to the family Tisbidae. The new genera are related to the genus Bathyidia Farran, and the male of the type species of this genus, B. remota Farran, is described for the first time. Ten species of planktonic siphonostomatoids are described, including 6 new bathypelagic species belonging to the genus Hyalo- pontius Sars H. roei, H. cinctus and H. enormis. The 2 species of Mormonilla Giesbrecht are described and the syste- matic position of this aberrant genus is considered. It is Megapontius Hulsemann).
