Introduction - L'étude de la prosodie en acquisition: Un enjeu clinique

Abstract

In order to understand developmental disorders, researchers are more and more numerous to refer to processes of language acquisition. Several studies have highlighted the fundamental role of prosody during the preverbal period. Prosody appears as one of the components of language that the child treats from the beginning of life, both in perception and production. To notice the evolution of the prosody therefore appears to be an efficient approach to detect when the linguistic system becomes inconsistent or when child's development presents atypical aspects. However, such approach involves to find objective criteria allowing to measure dysfunctions in vocal parameters. Research of these criteria is today essential to identify disorders as early as possible.
