Abstract

Key motivation for the effective deployment of eHealth within health and social care will be the educational resources that can guide the thinking, planning and implementation of emerging eHealth tools within society. Understanding how eHealth can integrate with existing healthcare practices is important and in this chapter, eHealth as a global priority is discussed from a number of perspectives. The International evidence base and global policy is reviewed to provoke the reader to consider eHealth from a practical perspective and the implications of eHealth on the nursing profession.
