Abstract

Ionic and electronic conductivities of Ce(Gd)O2_x compositions are summarised as a function of temperature, oxygen partial pressure, and microstructure. Measurements of the current-voltage characteristics of the PEN arrangement, Lao.6Sro.4Coo.2Feo.gO3/ Ceo.8Gdo.2Ok9/Ni-ZrO2, are reported over the temperature range 500-700°C. The behaviour of the cathode over the same temperature range as a function of oxygen partial pressure has also been evaluated by impedance spectroscopy, and similar investigations for the anode when exposed to H2/H2O, CO-H2, and CH3OH fuels are also reported.
