Challenges in Minority Langage programming in Canada's Eastern Arctic: The Training of Aboriginal Language Interpretor-Translators

Abstract

This article explains the reasons which led to the creation of Arctic College and presents its external and internal structure and more specifically, the programmes of interpretation and translation (eligibility, course contents, etc.). It gives an account of the first two years of its functioning.On explique les raisons de la création de l'Arctic College. On présente l'organisation externe et interne du collège, plus spécifiquement la structure du programme d'interprétation et de traduction (conditions d'admission, contenu des cours, etc.). On fait le bilan des deux premières années de fonctionnement.
