Abstract

This article outlines a teaching experience that addresses the discrimination derived from the use of the hijab as gender discrimination. The activity, whose curricular context is the Arabic language class for the teaching of translation and interpretation, is articulated based on the reflection on the use of the hijab through three axes: the stereotypes assigned to the Muslim woman, the binomial hijab-woman and the motivations for which a woman wears the hijab. Regarding the methodology, it combines the questionnaire and the reading of academic articles.
