Abstract

David O'Hanley has produced a book that encompasses a working knowledge of serpentinite needed to understand oceanic crust accretion and continental margin tectonics. The main theme of this book is to demonstrate that careful mineralogy and petrologic studies of serpentinites holds great promise in providing clues to unravel complex tectonic histories. It goes beyond giving insights into the paragenesis of serpentine minerals related to the pressure and temperature (P‐T) of their stability fields by showing the influence of fluid rock interaction.
