Abstract

Recreation opportunity planning incorporates the concept of a Recreation Opportunity Spectrum into a planning system that combines relationships between natural resource settings, recreational activities, and the resulting recreationist experiences into six ROS classes of land and water areas. Both the USDA Forest Service and the USDI Bureau of Land Management have adopted recreation opportunity planning as part of their integrated land and resource management planning process. -from Authors
