This article discuses about the everyday practice of poligamy among Middle Class Muslims in Yogyakarta from the perspective of the wives. Utilizing the benefits of phenomenological perspective concentrating on the individual experiences, this paper argued that the willingness to live in polygamous marriage comes from the husbands, the wives, or both the husbands and the wives. In everyday live, the wives argued that they could fullfil the rights and the obligations as they got the the religious and economic guarantees from their husbands.
