Abstract

A review. MRNA drug/vaccine, which is used as a therapeutic drug or vaccine by administering mRNA into the body as a medicine, is attracting attention. Any protein can be produced by simply changing the nucleic acid sequence, and there is no risk of genomic insertion mutagenesis and it is a therapeutic drug/vaccine for many diseases and a new drug discovery modality that is expected to be developed. Rapid vaccine development for COVID-19 has been made, with the contribution of many technologies such as mRNA prodn. and immunol. control DDS. This paper outlines the development process of mRNA drugs and vaccines, the technol. indications used, and future issues. [on SciFinder(R)]
