Abstract

Scientific research over the last decade serves as a firm basis for developing acid deposition reduction policy. Understanding of source receptor relations is sufficient to support geographically broad-based reductions in precursor emissions. Improved source-receptor relations will facilitate the development of efficient reduction strategies, but major improvements from modeling cannot be expected for some time. Empirical methods, while promising, have received insufficient attention. -Author
