Abstract

This article outlines a theoretical framework that facilitates the analysis of the relationship between technology and economic behavior. I discuss some important channels and processes through which technology can positively impact economic activities. I then discuss areas where technological change may negatively impact the society. Finally, I show how economic incentives and government policy can affect the pace of technological progress.
