The article examines how feedback from the U.S. military to its civilian leaders can be useful, and discusses the various types of errors which can result from inadequate attention to such feedback. Examples are presented of cases where information from the military was downplayed, and the results are analyzed. The importance of knowledge transfer in public administration is emphasized, in the context of U.S. national security policy.
