Abstract

The definition of traffic-induced environmental vibration is proposed in this paper. 12 main factors of environmental vibration by urban mass transit are analyzed, and eight current research topics in this field in China are summarized. Three key problems needed to break through in the further research are presented, which are the standards of allowable vibration and its evaluation methods, the prediction of vibration transmission and radiated noise and the implementation of vibration mitigation technology. The authors believe that the following researches must be carried out at present in China, where the urban mass transit has the fastest development and the largest scale in the world: the fundamental research on standards of traffic induced environmental vibration, the source spectra of train and road traffic induced vibrations and the visual prediction based on big data and cloud computing technology. And the comprehensive design of mitigation of vibration and noise should be considered in scheme, line plan, product access, structure design, check and assessment of mitigation effect after operation and so on in the course of feasibility study, scheme design, and project implementation.
