Abstract

Recently, new travel opt ions such as micromobilit y and shared transport systems have been introduced in many urban areas in Spain, which are intended to increase the sustainabilit y and accessibilit y of cit ies. The Covid-19 pandemic has boosted the use of these new individual travel modes. The aim of this paper is to analyze travel behavior and wellbeing of users of these new urban solut ions compared to tradit ional transport. Face-to-face and online surveys were carried out during the Summer of 2021 in Valencia (Spain) to collect informat ion regarding travel behavior and wellbeing. Part icipants were habit ual users of all urban travel modes, including those who also used motosharing, carsharing or private e-scooters. 2225 valid responses were obtained after data cleaning and validat ion. Sat isfact ion with Travel Scale (STS) is used to explore subject ive wellbeing of users of new and tradit ional transport modes. Results show that current users of motosharing and private e-scooters were former users of public transport, while users of carsharing used to ut ilize more car and motosharing before. On the other hand, act ive transport is associated with higher sat isfact ion compared to new urban modes, while they provide more sat isfact ion than urban public transport.
