Abstract

Aquatic macroinvertebrate fauna of Lake Takkobu, Kushiro Marsh, northern Japan, were studied in 2003-2004. Ninety-four taxa belonging to 4 phyla were collected. The fauna were composed of 34 taxa of Chironomidae, 18 taxa of Oligochaeta, 8 taxa of Mollusca, 7 species of 0donata, 5 taxa of Hemiptera, 4 taxa each of Hirudinea and Trichoptera, 2 taxa each of Acari, Isopoda, Coleoptera and Ceratopogoneidae, one taxon each of Nematoda, Gammaridea, Decapoda, Mysida, Ephemeroptera and Megaloptera. Those fauna indicate that Lake Takkobu is a typical eutrophic maritime coastal lake.
