Abstract

The presented project, denominated ROBOTE, aims to develop a robot which teaches children to classify waste. The objective of ROBOTE is to educate children of basic school age about the importance of correctly classifying waste and promoting sustainable habits in their daily life with a feedback-and-reward system to encourage participation and motivation. This project is rooted in the current problem of the increasing consumption of plastics and the lack of adequate waste management, and seeks to contribute to the achievement of Goals 12, 14 and 15 of the UN 2030 Agenda.
