Abstract

Despite the increasing risk of disasters and health crises worldwide, we are failing to equip the new generation of health care workers with basic education and training in disaster medicine and global public health. Unfortunately, the teaching of disaster medicine is underrepresented in several countries worldwide. Learning Objectives: Understand the role of education and training as integral components of disaster preparedness.
