Abstract

A case is presented of severe foot infection in a diabetic Asian man secondary to callus formation from local pressure sustained while at prayer ('prayer foot'). The presence of poorly-controlled diabetes and peripheral neuropathy were probably contributory factors, and particular attention to 'prayer foot' and patient education is indicated when such risk factors are present.
