Abstract

A rare thoracotreme crab, Pseudogelasimus loii Serene, 1981, originally described from Nhatrang, Vietnam, is recorded from the estuary of the Thu Bon River, Hoi An, Vietnam. A description and illustrations for the new specimen are provided. A molecular phylogenetic analysis based on mtDNA sequences confirms its taxonomic placement in the family Dotillidae.
