Abstract
Infection with HIV, its treatment, and the treatment of associated complications are often associated with significant hematologic problems. Efforts to deal with these problems include the development of newer, less myelosuppressive agents; exploration of alternative dosing regimens for currently available therapies; and the use of marrow-stimulating cytokines. Continued research into ways to reduce the hematologic and other complications of AIDS therapies will be an important area of exploration.
